The Jordan 6 is rich in historical significance. The last shoe to be promoted with the popular Mars Blackmon character, and the first to capture a championship, the 1991 classic ushered in the era of the greatest player of all time. Maybe that’s why the aesthetic backstory is surprisingly low key.
With the exception of a sports car spoiler inspired heel tab, this Tinker Hatfield design cites no specific source of inspiration. Backstory or no backstory, the Jordan 6 is simply a great shoe. An exoskeletal upper, twin Air cushioning, one max-volume unit at the heel and a second unit at the forefoot, a sleeve fit midfoot and stretch lace pocket are engineered for on-court domination.
A ‘tech chrome’ variant of the Jordan 6 features a suede upper, chrome detailing, and offers the kind of luxe confidence that flows after all the trophies have been duly collected.
