The first thing that springs to mind with the New Balance 992, for most people, is “the Steve Jobs shoe.” While the 992’s presence at the public unveiling of so many life altering gadgets has certainly added to the shoe’s legend, even the most casual followers could tell you that there is more to any New Balance shoe than the reflected glory of celebrity adjacency.

As part of the venerable 99x series, the 992 is part of a legacy of innovation, performance, comfort and a refined, timeless sense of style. Originally released in 2006 during New Balance’s centenary celebrations, the 992 introduced a new form of the brand’s patented ABZORB cushioning, ABZORB SBS, which utilized non-cellular elastomer, rather than traditional foam rubber, allowing for peak performance over a longer period of use.

The 992 may have debuted in 2006, but with a classic mesh with leather and suede overlays grey upper, reflective detailing and a red, white and blue color block midsole, this made in the USA edition of the 992 checks all of the timeless New Balance boxes.
